The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Predict 2% Growth Over 2020

Forecasts by The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors predict a steady 2% growth over 2020 and a 4.5% rise next year.

The new decade has brought with it a sense of optimism for investors within the property industry. The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors believe the General Election acts as an adrenaline shot for the property market, boosting a steady 2% rise in annual property prices. It is believed that Brexit will mean many buyers and sellers will behave with more caution, preventing any dramatic rises.

Then, greater political certainty will create a larger 4.5% rise in 2021, causing larger growth in the property industry.

What does this mean for investors?

With these predicted rises in house prices over the next few years, it may be the perfect time for you to get ahead of the curve and invest into some new properties.

Regardless of your preference and whether you plan on investing for buy-to-let or refurbishment projects, you are likely to need to find the money to purchase the property in the first place.

There are a range of options available for securing this finance. You may choose to partner with another investor on a joint venture project, or you may be interested in receiving bridging finance to provide you with the short-term finance you need.

What is a joint venture?

Joint ventures combine the skills and experience of one individual with the financial assets of another.

For example, if you are an experienced property developer, you may require 100% funding through a JV lender. In comparison, if you are an inexperienced developer who has access to cash resources, you may want to partner with an experienced developer in order to satisfy the criteria of your lender.

What is bridging finance?

This funding works as a solution that ‘bridges’ the gap by providing access to money that can be used to secure a property or land or keep a property running. Discover more about bridging finance.
